Service description

The Campus IT authentication service provides various methods for secure authentication for TU Wien’s central IT services. To enhance the security of identity verification, the service also offers authentication via ID Austria and multi-factor authentication (MFA), depending on the use case.

With ID Austria, users with a TUaccount can securely authenticate themselves even without their TUaccount password and, if necessary, reset their password on their own. Multi-factor authentication supplements the login process with an additional, independent security factor, thereby providing enhanced protection for services such as TUaccount and TUvpn.

Regular maintenance takes place on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

During this time, TUidentity, TUaccount/SSO, and TUportal may experience restrictions or brief outages without prior notice.

The Campus IT Authentication Service provides a secure authentication process for TU Wien's central IT services.

Campus IT Authentication Service:
No registration required. Anyone with a TUaccount can log in to central IT services that use this authentication service and for which they are authorized.

Authentication via ID Austria:
No registration required. An active ID Austria can be used directly as an alternative login method to the TUaccount password.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA):
You can enable or disable MFA yourself via the TU Portal. Upon activation, a secret code is provided, which is stored in an authenticator app. The app then generates the MFA codes required for login.
