Academic AI
Service description
Academic AI provides OpenAI language models such as ChatGPT-4o in an isolated Microsoft Azure environment. Input data and uploads remain within the “Azure Secure Landing Zone.” The service is available university-wide and is intended for research, teaching, and administration.
Academic AI is an AI-powered application based on a large language model (LLM). It understands and generates natural language and supports you in many work situations.
- Understanding and editing textsSummarizing, rephrasing, correcting, and adapting style (e.g., factual ↔ informal, making technical texts understandable for laypeople). Including translations.
- Creative writingCreating drafts for stories, poems, social media posts, or speeches—with a specific tone or feel, if desired.
- Working productivelyPlanning projects, structuring to-do lists, organizing notes, summarizing meetings, and drafting professional emails, job applications, and resumes. Support with time management and prioritization.
- Programming & technologyWriting, explaining, and optimizing code in many languages, helping with debugging, and suggesting solutions to technical problems (including APIs/frameworks).
- Analyze dataCheck tables, perform simple statistical evaluations, and convert raw data into structured formats such as JSON or XML.
- Specified behaviorWith Tailored AI, the behavior of the model can be customized (system prompt). This allows Academic AI to be specifically “configured” as, for example, a lawyer, coach, teacher, or developer.
