Information about the TUnet failure between 2:00 and 3:00 pm

Today between 2:00 and 3:00 pm there was a major breakdown of the TUnet. It was caused by a defective module in a central switch in the data center, which appeared to the neighbouring switches to be fully functional, so parts of the traffic were lost. The problem was temporarily solved by shutting down the affected ports.

A replacement for the defective module has already been requested from the maintenance company. As soon as it has been delivered, it will be exchanged within a specially announced maintenance window.
