The u:book service will be discontinued in January 2026. There will be no further sales periods. A careful analysis has shown that the framework conditions have changed significantly in recent years, and the effort involved is no longer in proportion to the benefits. This step was therefore necessary in the interests of sustainable and resource-oriented further development.

The University of Vienna would like to express its sincere thanks to all u:book users and partners for 18 years of trust and loyalty.

Founded in 2008, u:book offered the opportunity to purchase high-quality laptops, convertibles and tablets at particularly favourable prices twice a year in 4-week sales periods. The service was aimed at all Austrian educational institutions and their members.
