Service description

TUworkPlace offers access to a virtual Windows desktop provided with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) software in the TU Wien data centers. To facilitate access, a thinclient solution is provided in order to be able to use fully centrally managed end devices in a quality-assured manner. Access for service recipients is via Thinclient (Stratodesk) or the TUworkPlace Client (via VMware Horizon Client); login is via the upTUdate account.

For convenient use, access is possible without TUvpn. Here, security is ensured both in the data center via anti-malware software and via rules that restrict access to the TUworkPlace. These restrictions extend to the network and client software configuration.

TU.it offers quality-assured hardware for access to TUworkPlace Office. 

In the course of service provision, a centrally maintained thinclient system and a Windows desktop with Microsoft Office maintained in the data center are offered.

In addition, both software and hardware for collaboration are provided.
