The new TUtoolbox supports an auto-update function

Starting with Build 720, TUtoolbox for Windows supports an auto-update function even for users without administrative rights

Starting with version 2026.0.0.720, TUtoolbox (for Windows) supports two functions that must be installed once by a person with administrative rights, but can then be used by everyone.

  1. After installing this option, even users without administrative rights can use TUtoolbox to install or uninstall all available tools. This is particularly useful for the offerings in the “Open Source” category, as it allows users without administrative privileges to use them as well.
  2. After installing this option, TUtoolbox can automatically check for updates in the background each time you log in. If updates are found, the user will be asked whether they should be installed. This allows common applications such as Zoom, Teams, Notepad++, etc. to be kept up to date without administrative intervention.
