Major lifecycle changes for Microsoft products and EOL announcements

Microsoft communicates important changes in the support cycles of upcoming products or reminds about the 'end of life' of products

Microsoft is changing the support periods for the upcoming LTSC (Long Term Support Channel) editions of Windows and Office. The current practice of supporting LTSC versions for 10 years will be shortened to 5 years. Furthermore, the next Windows LTSC 2021 version is announced for the 2nd half of 2021.

Microsoft also reminds that the following products, among others, have reached or will soon reach their end of life (end of support and thus also end of security updates):

Sharepoint Server 2010
Project Server 2010
Lync 2010
Windows 1803, 1809, 1909
