TUnet core software update 16 Sep 2020

On 16 Sep 2020 between 05:00 and 06:00 pm, a software update will be installed on the other TUnet core router. There should be no service interruptions.

Update 18 Sep 2020 09:30 am: The update has been completed successfully within the maintenance window.

After the software upgrade of the Freihaus TUnet core router on 07 September 2020, the same software upgrade will be performed on the other router (Gusshausstraße) on Wednesday 16 September 2020 between 05:00 and 06:00 pm.

The update was not performed on the original planned date (09 September 2020) due to a possible stability issue; we have now been able to confirm with the manufacturer that the message we observed has no effect on the router's stability.

Before the upgrade, all central services (particularly the Internet firewalls and the central WiFi controllers) will be transferred to Freihaus; this means that no central services such as the Internet uplink, WiFi, or VPN should suffer from any interruptions.
