Software Upgrades in the Backnet Network (TUiScsiBackupDisk)

On Wednesday, January 25th 2023 between 12:00 noon and 4:00 pm, the software of the Backnet switches will be upgraded. This will lead to disrupted connectivity within the TUiScsiBackupDisk service, among others.

Update 3:40 pm: The upgrade has been completed successfully.

The update contains security, stability and maintainability improvements to the switches.

If you have mounted a TUiScsiBackupDisk on your server, we strongly recommend unmounting it (i.e. deactivating the iSCSI connection) beforehand and leaving it unmounted during the maintenance window to prevent data loss.

Other services using the Backnet network will also experience connectivity disruptions; this, however, only affects small groups of users.
