This maintenance only affects TUclient devices rented from CIT.
After extensive introductory tests, we are now putting Empirum Client Management into operation in rapid succession. Due to the necessary changes at the end of Windows 10's life cycle, we have fixed deadlines that we must meet. We therefore ask for your assistance.
The first step is to actively connect to Empirum, our client management system. Many of the TUclient computers already have this connection, but some are still missing or the devices are not clearly assigned. Only with active, up-to-date client management can we achieve our new service goals. Therefore, an active Empirum connection will be a prerequisite for system maintenance/servicing of TUclients from October 1, 2025.
↪ If you already maintain your TUclient yourself or would like to do so (own installation of any operating system, need for your own admin user, etc.) or do not want to install an Empirum client, please let us know in the TUshop as follows:
- Connect to the TUshop (navigation “Workplace” ➔ “My Hardware”)
- Click once on your TUclient ➔ the quick view will open
- Click on ‘Waiver of Management’ and complete the wizard that opens.
- If you want to manage multiple TUclients yourself, repeat the above two steps for each device.
Please note that after this, you will only have the manufacturer's hardware warranty (handled by CIT). From this point on, you will be responsible for all software changes and network registrations. This decision is final for each device and cannot be changed at a later date. However, when ordering new TUclients, you can make this decision again for the new device.
↪ If you would like to continue using CIT system support after October 1, 2025, please proceed as follows (even if you see an old version of the client on your computer):
- Windows-Users:
If you or an administrator have administrative rights, open TUtoolbox and select the “EmpirumAgentDeployment” tool. Let the installation run. Once the TUtoolbox process is complete, open the “EmpirumAgentDeployment” tool (in the “TUtoolbox” folder on your desktop) and follow the instructions. If you encounter any problems during verification or installation, please open a ticket using the integrated function at the end.
If you do not have admin access, please contact the Service Center. - Mac-Users:
Please contact the Service Center. - Users of self-installed operating systems:
Please waive software management as described above; self-installed operating systems are not supported.
↪ All TU clients that do not regularly log in with the current Empirum client by October 1, 2025, will be excluded from CIT system support (this corresponds to manual unsubscribing, as described above).
