Rack conversion in IT backbone distribution room DAU1M04 on March 5, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, a rack with active glass connections will be replaced during a maintenance window from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as a preliminary measure for the UDN2025 project.

During the specified period, two fibre optic panels with connections to various buildings at TU Wien will be moved to a new rack. This will result in a complete failure of the fibre optic lines during the specified period. However, due to CIT's redundancy concept, there should be no service outages in the affected buildings (B, D, H, O).

Only the Martiellistraße 2-4 (XK) location does not have a redundant connection and will therefore be inaccessible, i.e. the internet, Wi-Fi and telephony will not work there for the duration of the conversion. We will endeavour to interrupt the connection to this location for as short a time as possible.

We are endeavouring to keep the interruptions as short as possible and thank you for your understanding.

No changes to your end systems are necessary. If you suspect a problem after the maintenance work has been completed, please first check the network settings of your system or contact the IT contact person at your institute.
