Maintenance work TUnet backbone Campus Getreidemarkt

The replacement of that building’s backbone router will take place during a maintenance window Friday June 12, 2020 between 8:00am and 12:00am. During this time you will experience interruptions on the site of Campus Getreidemarkt of our TUnet services as Internet access for wired network for servers and desktops as well as WiFi and TUphone outage of 10 minutes maximum, the same is valid for GUT entry systems and surveillance cams on site. Access between desktops and serverhousing will become briefly interrupted, TU.it datacenter services are not affected.

Update 12.06.2020 01:00 p.m. : The replacement of backbone router Campus Getreidemarkt has been finished successfully within the scheduled maintenance window.

The TUnet Campus Enterprise network infrastructure is being adapted to the needs of TU Wien continually. Currently, the implementation of an up-to-date 100Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure is ongoing to be on top of future developments in terms of the ever progressing digitalization.

The core of TUnet has already been renewed, the next steps include the upgrade to 100G technology for Campus Getreidemarkt.

We aim to keep the interruptions as short as possible and thank you for your understanding.

After the upgrade is completed, the Campus Getreidemarkt will be highly available, connected via four 100 gigabit links towards the TUnet Core and ready fulfilling future performance and switching capacity demands.
