Maintenance TUnet Core

The other TUnet core switch-router has been renewed on 20th February 2020 in a maintenance window from 08:00 to 16:00.

Update 17:20: The setup of the new core switch-router was completed successfully around 14:10 and the switch-router has been operational and stable since then.

After the successful upgrade of the TUnet core switch-router on the Freihaus campus on the 10th of December 2019 to a new hardware platform and its stable operation over the past few months, the TUnet core switch-router on the Gusshausstraße campus will be renewed on the 20th of February 2020. The upgrade process might cause intermittent interruptions of TUnet services such as Internet access for wired TUnet connections of workstations and servers, the Wi-Fi network, the VPN, or TUphone (VoIP telephony).

During the maintenance work, the TUnet core switch-router on the Freihaus campus will take over all relevant functions in the TUnet backbone. TU.it datacenter services are not affected by the upgrade.

After the upgrade is completed, the full TUnet core will offer bandwidths of up to 100 gigabit, fulfilling future performance and switching capacity demands.

We aim to keep the interruptions as short as possible and thank you for your understanding.

If you suspect a problem after our maintenance work has been completed, please check the network settings of your system or contact the IT contact person at your institute first.
