No; usually a user with administrator rights is required for this, which can be additionally created for you if really absolutely necessary (exception: devices with macOS).

For new devices, the following basic software is installed and automatically updated:

  • Windows 10 or 11 (versions: "Education" for TUdeskTop / "Pro" for TUnoteBook)
  • Office 2021 LTSC (incl. Teams) 
  • Adobe PDF-Viewer (Acrobat Reader)
  • Cisco Jabber (TUphone)
  • Cisco AnyConnect (VPN) – only TUnoteBook!
  • TUtoolBox
  • TUownCloud Client
  • Teamviewer
  • Matrix42 Software Depot

In addition, the following software can be obtained via the TU.it campus software: TU.it. Software List Campus Software

Hardware parts (memory, hard disk, etc.) must not be replaced or modified, as this will automatically void the device's warranty.

TUdeskTop devices have a 3-year warranty.
TUnoteBook devices also have a 3-year warranty. In addition to that, there is also the on-site repair service by the manufacturer.

After 4 years of use, a new notebook can be requested via our TUnoteBook-HardwareReplacement. For this, a one-time payment in the amount of half the initial price will be charged in the following quarter.

Yes, the device will be delivered to you encrypted with Bitlocker (for Mac: Filevault). The key is stored in an encrypted and password-protected file. In case of emergency, you can request this key from us.
