Campus software is commercial software purchased and managed by TU.it and made available to TU staff for a subsidized fee. Software ordered and released by an authorized person can be obtained from the software distribution server swd.tuwien.ac.at. The offer includes application and system software for all common computer architectures.

The campus software must be ordered online, opens an external URL in a new window. Based on this order, the software will be released and can be installed independently or by your administrator. New customers who do not yet have a campus software account (user name and password) must register before placing their first order. It is generally recommended to order the licenses under your own name (and not centrally via the admin), some products even require a personal order.
Once the software has been released by the person entitled to release, opens an external URL in a new window it, the software can be obtained. Details, opens an external URL in a new window can be found on the product page and in the readme file on the Software Distribution Server (SWD).
The currently available software portfolio can be viewed on the software list, opens an external URL in a new window. If you do not find a software in the list, you can submit a software request on our wish list, opens an external URL in a new window.
Campus software can only be purchased if there is a correspondingly high level of interest, the budget is available and a corresponding contract can be concluded with the provider. If you have a software request, please deposit it on our wish list, opens an external URL in a new window.
Depending on the product and manufacturer, we receive updates and new versions sooner or (significantly) later than single end customers. Special education versions often appear up to months after the commercial version. Please note that for products marked "selfupdate", updates must be downloaded directly from the end customer (usually within the software itself). A product is only available to you after it has been released by the person authorized, opens an external URL in a new window to release it. The ordering process generally does not send a notification to the person authorized to release a product (unless you select the notification checkbox). For this reason, please inform a person with release authorization. If, despite successful release, a problem with access to the software should occur, please contact us via Ticket, opens an external URL.
The person authorized to release must also release his own purchase order.
