E020-02-1 - Service Group Server and Storage

The Specialist Group Server & Storage (SEAS) is the contact for TU.it's inhouse infrastructure services in the area of server systems, server virtualisation platforms, central storage and backup systems. The group SEAS provides the 'Applications' and 'Application Management' groups with infrastructure for the operation of numerous TU.it services using the network infrastructure provided by the KOM department.
For the operation of various core applications of the TU Wien (eg TISS), the group SEAS provides other specialist departments with a complete operating infrastructure (server, databases, firewall, backup). The operation is carried out by a DevOps team.
In addition, TU-wide server and storage services, such as TUhost, TUfiles and TUiScsiBackupDisk are operated entirely by the specialist group.
